This exhibition marks the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Osher Map Library and Smith Center for Cartographic Education. It contains a selection of cartographic treasures from the map library’s collections. The definition of treasure is both literal (old and rare maps that are valuable collectors’ items) and metaphorical (not-so-old and not-so-rare maps that are nonetheless valuable and significant historical resources). The result is an exhibition that displays the breadth of the holdings now preserved in the map library.
