Physical Description: Propaganda poster map comparing Germany to a giant octupus threatening Europe. Map also shows numerous annexations of surrounding territory since 1740 including Germany's seizure of Alsace-Lorraine in 1871. Included is an image of a Prussian soldier with blood on his hands and uniform. The poster was drawn by Maurice Neumont for "La Conference au Village contre le Propagande ennemie en France" whose title is in a large medallion lower right. Also included is General Petain's exhortation to the French people to defend themselves in the name of liberty and to preserve their lives.
