Brief Description: Cover of January 22, 1898 issue of Judge magazine depicting a lithographic map of the United States in the shape of "Uncle Sam" wearing a gold crown with Klondike and Alaska written on it. Gold was discovered by local miners in the summer of 1896 which precipitated a huge migration of prospectors to the area in search of gold. Judge was a weekly satirical magazine published from 1881 to 1947. Includes various satirical observations on society.
