Brief Description: Copperplate engraving with color outline. The map is a variant printed from a second plate between the 1750s and 1790s. The cartographer, Johann Peter Nell worked with Johann Baptist Homann and received the imperial privilege for this map in 1709 and in 1712 for three more years. Map was first published in 1714 and references the Treaty of Rastatt of 1714 which was likely added to this map. The treaty was signed between France and Austria which put an end between the two from the War of the Spanish Succession. Included on the map is the double-headed eagle of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI to whom this map is dedicated. Also the map shows parts of surrounding countries indicating postal routes and postal stations.
