Brief Description: On verso: half of map of Provinces of Ontario and Quebec, Dominion of Canada. This map is known to have been published by O.W. Gray in one of his atlases but the exact title is unknown. The focus of this map is Alaska. The Chukchi Peninsula, Yukon Territory, and northern British Columbia are included.
Historical Context: The Alaska Purchase was the United States' acquisition of Alaska from the Russian Empire formally transferred to the United States on October 18, 1867 through a treaty ratified by the U.S. Senate.
