Notes: In 1604, Gerard Mercator's grandson privately sold the copperplates of his grandfather's maps to Jodocus Hondius and Cornelis Claesz of Amsterdam. This map is from the 4th Latin edition of the Mercator-Hondius atlas from 1611. The first edition was published in 1606.
