Brief Description: Lithographic pictorial work whose purpose was to inform American viewers of the wider world and America's place in it. Illustrations in the four corners depict Caucasian, Mongol, African and Malay races. In between the 2 hemispheres is a Native American with raised hatchet representing the ongoing conflicts of Indians versus expansion into the West. Included are tables of populations of modern and ancient cities, earth's population and religions of the world. Also pictured are illustrations of women in costume representing their countries. Illustrated are the highest buildings in the world including the Bunker Hill Monument, St. Peter's in Rome, the Sphinx and pyramids in Egypt.
