Brief Description: City plan of Farmington, Maine created through subscriptions from businesses and residents. Engravings by Russell Richardson include the Willows Female Seminary, four different scenes of the Abbott Family School for Boys which include the schoolhouse and mansion. Included is Farmington Subscribers' Directory and West Farmington Directory. Also featured on Academy Street is the State Normal School which became the University of Maine Farmington campus. E.F. Sanford was a map and atlas publisher from Philadelphia active in the mid nineteenth century. C.T. Leggett was a surveyor and cartographer active in Philadelphia publishing maps with Sanford. George Worley was an English lithographer active in Philadelphia and formed a partnership with Bracher producing over 200 maps and atlases. Frederick Bourquin was a Swiss-American engraver and lithographer active in the mid to late 19th century in Philadelphia. "Printed by F. Bourquin." "Engr'd by Worley and Bracher".
