Brief Description: Map of the Americas published in 1663 by Anna Seile. Illustrated with two sailing ships and two sea monsters. Includes a rendition of a smokehouse in Brazil. Anne or Anna Seile was a publisher in London who took over her husband's role in the map trade after his death in 1662. Engraved by Robert Vaughan for a third edition of Peter Heylin's "Cosmographie" published in 1662. Robert Vaughan was a Welsh engraver active in London from 1622. Peter Heylin, English ecclesiastic and author of "Cosmograhie" describing in detail geography, climate, customs, politics and belief systems.
