Brief Description: Inset maps: Faroe Islands, Iceland and Sunderoe Islands which are part of the Malay Archipelago. The map of Greenland was based on Hans Egede's description of Greenland. Egede was a Danish-Norwegian Lutheran missionary who launched missions to Greenland. He established a successful mission among the Inuit and re-established Danish-Norwegian interest in the island after contact had been broken for 300 years. The map of the Faroe Islands was based on a description by Lucas Jacobsen Debes, a Danish priest, topographer and writer about the Faroe Islands. Debes published "Færoæ et Færoa reserata" in 1673, one of the earliest books about the Faroe Islands and included one of the first maps of the islands.
