Brief Description: Allegorical map of the mythical "Presque-Isle of Perfection" connected to "the continent of the world" by the "isthmus of charity". This is an example of allegorical cartography popular at the end of the 18th and start of the 19th centuries in continental Europe. The tone is  moralistic depicting cities that include fidelity and discretion. Included is an illustration of a sinking ship with a woman holding on to the mast representing a warning of those who do not achieve perfection.
