Alberta King was shot and killed on June 30, 1974 at Ebenezer Baptist Church while playing the organ by Marcus Wayne Chenault, a 23 year old African-American who believed all Christians were his enemies. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a prominent activist in the civil rights movement participating in marches for voting rights, desegregation and labor rights. In March, 1963 he delivered his most famous speech at the Washington mall called "I Have A Dream". On April 4, 1968 King was assassinated by James Earl Ray.
