Brief Description: Adolph K. Krebs (1831-September 15, 1884) was a lithographer originally from Germany. He fought in the Civil War, was captured and imprisoned in Andersonville Prison. After the war he returned to Cincinnati and starting in the late 1860's he was active in various lithography and chromolithography firms. It was the largest of the three original soldiers' national homes established by the United States government following the Civil War. It was established in 1865 providing care for disabled soldiers who were injured or lost a limb, wounded or diseased in the Union forces. Scenic views include the vast park area, housing for soldiers, soldiers marching and drilling while a few relax in the woods. This soldiers' home was the Central Branch constructed in 1867.
