Plan of the town of Exeter, New Hampshire by surveyor Phinehas Merrill showing town boundaries, bodies of water, meadow and woodlands. Included are names of land owners, schools, taverns and mills. Exeter is one of the oldest towns in the state. It was an early manufacturing center. It was also the state capital during the American Revolutionary War and the birthplace and home of John Gilman, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
