Brief Description: Map promoting the advances in electrical power and industry in Rumford Falls, Maine. Photographic illustrations depict mills, rivers, downtown, buildings, railroads and canals. Two years before this map was published Hugh J. Chisholm with two investors planned the town of Rumford Falls around the Androscoggin River. Chisholm founded the Oxford Paper Company and co-founded the International Paper Company. He also founded between 1870 and 1898 three pulp and paper companies and two railroads featured on the map.
