Brief Description: Card game based on the character Sam Slick created by Thomas Chandler Haliburton. The stories which include two booklets are read aloud and the cards are used to fill in the blanks in both. Thomas Chandler Haliburton was a Nova Scotian politician, judge and author. He created the character Sam Slick of Slicksville whose commentary on colonial life in Nova Scotia, relations with the United States and Britain proved to be very popular with readers. Haliburton's satirical sketches became a series and he was established as one of the founders of North American humor.
