Brief Description: Image depicts Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis in a tug-a-war over a map of the United States which is tearing south of the Potomac. The lithograph was published during the 1864 presidential campaign pitting Lincoln against McCllelan. Lincoln and Davis are uncompromising with Lincoln saying "No peace without Abolition" and Davis "No peace without separation". McCllelan is shown trying to hold the two men and the map together exclaiming "The Union must be preserved at all hazards".
