Brief Description: Image on verso of the whaling vessel "The Progess". Also included is a double-sided leaf describing the images titled, "Penobscots and Iroquois," 7.5 cm x 20.5 cm. Chicago World's Fair known as the World's Columbian Exposition celebrated the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the New World. More than 65,000 exhibits from 46 nations were displayed. The half tone print features the display of an elm-bark lodge representing the type of living quarters of the Iriquois. On the right is a Penobscot tent built with poles and bark. The Iriquois were a Confederacy comprising Mohawk and Oneida Nations. The Penobscot Tribe of Maine is part of the Wabanaki Confederacy.
