Brief Description: 1 flyer and 6 pages of typed convention rules.  The Committee for United Pittsburgh was formed in 1972 with a goal to empower Black political activism. The flyer included workshops, convention rules and a map on the cover indicating counties and towns.

Historical Context: From the 1950's and 1960's civil rights activists fought for freedom and equality. The 1970's marked achievements for African-Americans through their activism making strides in politics and business as well as academia.
