Brief Description: Front page of a war map supplement published on Sunday, January 27, 1918 by the Boston Advertiser and American showing a map of Austria-Hungary and Germany. Included are inset maps, one showing the railways from Cologne to Basel and battles fought in 1917. Included is a key with symbols indicating which cities were bombed by the Allies. Text below the map indicates the United States' efforts to eliminate the railways that allowed the Germans to move their troops and supplies. Also included is a description of French aviator Anselme Marchal's attempt to bombard Berlin with paper proclamations. He tried to land in Russia but landed in Cholm, Poland and was taken prisoner by the Germans in 1915. He escaped three years later with Roland Garros, another French aviator and innovator fighter pilot. Verso: Article by Robert A.
