Brief Description: Bird's-eye view of Seneca Falls, New York, dated 1882. The view looks north-west and includes the river, named streets, buildings, trains, and the surrounding countryside. Along the top and bottom of the map are depictions of the town's important structures: churches, a school and convent, factories and mills and their proprietors, a hotel, and houses of Seneca Fall's prominent citizens. Historical note: Seneca Falls was home to the 1848 Seneca Falls Women's Rights Convention. Its organizer, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, lived and worked in the town from 1847 to 1863.
