Sachse & Co. George Everett published the Hammond Gazette (#25 on the view) a weekly newspaper for the hospital patients at the Point Lookout prison. He had been assigned to several regiments until 1864 when he was assigned to the 38th Regiment U.S. Colored Infantry stationed at Point Lookout. Edward Sachse was a German-American artist, lithographer and publisher. He lithographed military camps and hospitals during the Civil War.
