Staying the Course: Working Women of Portland’s Waterfront will open at the Portland Public Library’s Lewis Gallery on First Friday, August 7, 2015 at 5 pm. The exhibit explores the diverse roles and stories of women in maritime commerce in Portland from historical and contemporary perspectives and is illustrated with photographs from Maine Maritime Museum’s collection, as well as historic maps and images from the collections of the Osher Map Library.
