Brief Description: From early colonial times Europeans often removed native peoples from lands they wanted to occupy. In the 1830's the Indian Removal Act marked the systematic U.S. federal policy to forcibly remove Native populations away from European populated areas. Between 1887 and 1934 various governmental acts continued the removal of native peoples from their lands. This map is one of several versions showing locations of reservations.
