Brief Description: Fourteen loose leaves of a calendar celebrating the centennial of the American Revolution. Each month depicts important events of the war including the announcement of the Declaration of Independence; Washington at Valley Forge; the battle of Lexington; the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown, Virginia on October 19th, 1781. Verso: Each calendar leaf contains information of a particular event that occurred on each month. Included are two calendars show the art gallery and horticultural building at the Centennial International Exhibition in Philadelphia in 1876. Centennial Home Insurance Company was founded by Joseph Martin Kronheim, a German born lithographer and wood engraver. His son Martin Kronheim printed the calendar.
