Brief Description: Bookplates identify the provenance and ownership of the atlas which included Alfred Corning Clark, American philanthropist and art patron whose father, Edward C. Clark was co-founder of the Singer Sewing Machine Company with Isaac Merritt Singer. Alfred Clark had purchased the atlas from Elihu Phinney, Jr. and bequeathed the atlas to his son and heir, Frederick Ambrose Clark, art collector and equestrian. Phinney's father's bookplate with coat of arms is featured on the inside cover.
