Spherical metal case, 2″ diameter; tiny. While some small globes could have been of use in education for kids, many of them were purchased and used as status symbols. An interest in astronomy and geography was trendy, and it’s not a stretch to say that people bought pocket globes and kept them on their person as a part of the trend.
