This armillary sphere (#4) not only shows the lines of the Earth, but it also shows the movements of the solar system. All eight planets, the sun, the asteroid belt, and the moon are represented, and all turn in orbit when a knob on the outside of the instrument is turned.

The knob sits on top of a metal plate that features a map of the northern sky. There is also instructional insert on the outside of the broad brass band.

This instrument combines an armillary sphere with an orrery. All of the planets, the sun, the asteroid belt, and the moon are represented, and all turn in orbit when a knob on the outside of the instrument is turned. There is an instructional insert on the outside of the broad brass band, and on the inside of the same band. The knob for turning the instrument is mounted on a metal plate that displays a map of the northern sky.
