Notes: Title from cataloger. Note: "A Paris, ches le Sr. Robert. Geographe ordinaire de Roi. Sur le Quai de l'horloge 1754." The date on the meridian ring of the globe is 1754. However, the globe shows part of the first voyage of Captain Cook, who explored New Zealand from 1768-1771. Thus the globe has probably been updated. The Robert de Vaugondy business was taken over by Charles Franc?ois Delamarche sometime after 1778. This globe has red edging along the sides of the stand, which is characteristic of Delamarche. Faded writing around the base which reads in part "la nouvelle Zeland."
