Brief Description: Engraved map of the town of Exeter, New Hampshire showing street plan and street names of residences, their owners and occupants named. Exeter was the state capital during the American Revolution and the birthplace of John Gilman, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Among the residences are several Gilman family members. Included is the Academy now the Phillips Exeter. Also included on the map are the industries in the town featuring grist, fulling and oil mills and a nail factory. The court house, prison and powder house are also featured on the map.
